Background:

The recombinant OKT4A antibody binds to the human CD4 protein (cluster of differentiation 4), a glycoprotein and the co-receptor for the T-cell receptor (TCR). The CD4 protein is expressed on the surface of immune cells such as helper T cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.

The OKT4A antibody (anti-human CD4, PE-conjugated) was used in flow cytometry to assess CD4 expression in cells with low CD4 levels, reducing non-specific binding and enhancing gp120 binding to CCR5. OKT4A staining confirmed CD4 dependency and inhibited CCR5-mediated fusion in a dose-dependent manner, as analyzed by flow cytometry.
