Recombinant human IgG1 Monoclonal Antibody. Muromonab is the parental mouse anti-CD3 mAb (OKT3 or OKT-3); teplizumab is the humanized version with the human IgG1 kappa constant regions and the Fc region having Fc receptor non-binding (FNB) properties.
Clone: OKT3 or OKT-3.
Isotype: Human IgG1 kappa.
Source: The anti-human CD3 monoclonal antibody teplizumab biosimilar was produced in mammalian cells.
Specificity/Sensitivity: The in vivo grade teplizumab biosimilar specifically binds to the human T cell receptor CD3.
Applications: ELISA, neutralization, functional assays such as bioanalytical PK and ADA assays, and those assays for studying biological pathways affected by teplizumab.
Form of Antibody: 0.2 uM filtered solution, pH 7.4, no stabilizers or preservatives.
Endotoxin: < 1 EU per 1 mg of the protein by the LAL method.
Purity: >95% by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions and HPLC.

Background
Teplizumab biosimilar uses the same protein sequences as the therapeutic antibody teplizumab (humanized OKT3).
A fully human monoclonal antibody that binds to CD3 epsilon of the T cell receptor-CD3 complex, teplizumab (humanized OKT-3) is used to delay the onset of stage 3 type 1 diabetes (T1D) in people with stage 2 T1D.
