Introduction
Fibroblast Growth Factor 21 (FGF21) is a growth factor that belongs to the FGF family. FGF family proteins play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of mamy tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF21 is a potent activator of glucose uptake on adipocytes, protects animal from diet-induced obesity when overexpression in transgenic mice, and lower blood glucose and triglyceride levels when therapeutically adiministered to diabetic redents.

A single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 182 amino acids, having a molecular weight of 19.5 kDa.
N-terminal sequence analysis: Ala-His-Pro-Ile-Pro.
Purity: > 98.0% by Gel Filtratio and SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: The protein was lyophilized from a concentrated (0.8 mg/ml) solution with 0.4 mg/ml of NaHCO3, pH 8.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Bovine FGF-21 in sterile water or 0.4% NaHCO3, not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions, preferably in presence of carrier protein.
Shipping: The product is shipped with ice pack. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
