Introduction
Fibroblast Growth Factor 21 (FGF21) is a growth factor that belongs to the FGF family. FGF family proteins play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of mamy tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF21 is a potent activator of glucose uptake on adipocytes, protects animal from diet-induced obesity when overexpression in transgenic mice, and lower blood glucose and triglyceride levels when therapeutically adiministered to diabetic redents.

A single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 180 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 19.7 kDa.
Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 determined by a cell proliferation assay using murine NIH/3T3 cells is less than 700 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1.4 -1000 IU/mg in the presence of 5 ug/ml of rMuKlotho-beta.
Purity: > 95.0% by Gel Filtratio and SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered concentrated solution in 1x PBS, pH 7.4.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized FGF 21 Rat Recombinant in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
