Introduction
Epidermal growth factor (EGF) is a small mitogenic protein that is thought to be involved in mechanisms such as normal cell growth, oncogenesis, and wound healing. This protein shows both strong sequential and functional homology with human type-alpha transforming growth factor (hTGF alpha), which is a competitor for EGF receptor sites. EGF is a small 53 amino acid residue long protein that contains three disulfide bridges.

Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) Protein is expressed with sequence (N971-R1023) of Human EGF.
Purity: > 95% by SEC-HPLC and reducing SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 0.1 ng/ug (1 IEU/ug).
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution of 20 mM PB, 200 mM NaCl, pH 7.0.
Reconstitution: Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 ug/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 1X PBS. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
