CD109 regulates in vivo tumor invasion in lung adenocarcinoma through TGF-? signaling
Sato M, et al. Cancer Sci. 2020 Nov;111(11):4068-4080. doi: 10.1111/cas.14640. PMID: 33007133
The anti-CD109 antibody (HD109) was used for immunohistochemical staining of human lung adenocarcinoma, revealing CD109 protein expression correlating with tumor grade and prognosis. Representative histological images, alongside H&E staining, showed consistent CD109 positivity in serial sections of tumor samples.

HDAC10 deletion promotes Foxp3+ T-regulatory cell function
de Zoeten EF, et al. J Clin Invest. 2020 Feb 3;130(2):658-670. doi: 10.1172/JCI130339. PMID: 31949209
In studies combining T-effector (TE), CD90.2?, and regulatory T cells (TR) from WT or HDAC10?/? mice, HDAC10 deletion did not significantly alter baseline lymphocyte populations. Proliferation of co-stimulated TE cells was assessed via flow cytometry with CFSE dye dilution after three days, indicating enhanced Treg function in HDAC10?/? settings.

HDAC10 Regulates Cancer Stem-Like Cell Properties in KRAS-Driven Lung Adenocarcinoma
Lee JH, et al. Cancer Res. 2020 Sep 1;80(17):3629-3641. doi: 10.1158/0008-5472.CAN-20-0600. PMID: 32540961
Hdac10 deletion accelerated KRAS-driven lung adenocarcinomas in mice, increasing macrophage infiltration and shortening survival. In vivo limiting dilution assays confirmed higher tumor incidence, suggesting HDAC10 as a potential tumor suppressor in KRAS-driven malignancies, with implications for CD109-targeted therapies.

Histone deacetylase 10 exerts antitumor effects on cervical cancer via a novel microRNA-223/TXNIP/Wnt/?-catenin pathway
Li J, et al. Cell Death Dis. 2021 Jan 21;12(1):93. doi: 10.1038/s41419-021-03415-0. PMID: 33481334
HDAC10 overexpression reduced cervical cancer (CC) cell activities in vitro and tumor growth and lung metastases in vivo. Microarray and RT-qPCR showed low HDAC10 expression in CC cells, with miR-223 targeting TXNIP to promote CC development, suggesting a role for CD109-related pathways.

Histone deacetylase 10 promotes autophagy-mediated cell survival
Oehme I, et al. Autophagy. 2013 Sep;9(9):1497-509. doi: 10.4161/auto.25562. PMID: 23801752
HDAC10 knockdown disrupted autophagy in neuroblastoma cell lines, sensitizing them to cytotoxic drugs, unlike nontransformed cells. Western blot analysis of BE(2)-C cells showed altered LC3-I and LC3-II expression post-HDAC10 siRNA transfection, indicating HDAC10’s role in autophagy-mediated survival relevant to CD109-targeted therapies.
