Introduction
Human TNFSF10 is a type II transmembrane protein with an intracellular N-terminus and a TNF homology domain (THD) at the extracellular C terminus. TNFSF10 can interact with several distinct receptors. Two of these receptors that belongs to TNFR superfamily, DR4 (TRAIL-R1) and DR5 (TRAIL-R2/TRICK2), are plasma membrane proteins containing intracellular death domains essential for activating apoptosis. TNFSF10 is promising for cancer therapy because it is cytotoxic and activates apoptosis in the majority of malignant cells, but not in normal cells.

Source: E. coli-derived.
A single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 168 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 19.5 kDa.
The activity is determined by the cytolysis of Murine L929 cells in the presence of Actinomycin D, ED50 for this effect is less than 2 ug/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 5,000,000 IU/mg.
Purity: > 95% by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC.
Formulation: Lyophilized from a filtered (0.2 um) solution containing 20 mM Tris-HCl pH 8.0 and 150 mM NaCl.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized TRAIL in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
