Background
Tryptophan hydroxylase is the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine,or 5HT). Tryptophan hydroxylaseatalyzes the iopterin-dependent monooxygenation of tryptophan to5-hydroxytryptophan (5HT), which is subsequently decarboxylated to form the neurotransmitter serotonin. Human tryptophan hydroxylase (TPH) is mapped to chromosome 11p15.3-p14 by in situhybridization.

Purification: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen.
Form of Antibody: Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
