Introduction
Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases 2 (TIMP-2) complexes with metalloproteinases (such as collagenases) and irreversibly inactivates them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor. Known to act on MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-7, MMP-8, MMP-9, MMP-10, MMP-13, MMP-14, MMP-15, MMP-16 and MMP-19.

A secreted protein with the sequence of Human TIMP-2 (amino acids Cys27-Pro220) and is fused to a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
The IC50 of 3 nM is measured by its ability to inhibit recombinant human MMP-2 cleavage of the colorimetric peptide substrate, Mca-PLGL-DpaAR-NH2.
Purity: > 95% by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: The TIMP2 protein was lyophilized after extensive dialysis against PBS.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized TIMP2 in sterile assay buffer (50 mM Tris, 10 mM CaCl2, 150 mM NaCl, 0.05% Brij-35, PH 7.5) not less than 100 ug/ml. .
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
