Introduction
Stromal Cell-derived.Factor-1 (SDF-1) is a chemokine member of the intercrine family. SDF1 is expressed as five isoforms that differ only in the C terminal tail. SDF1? and SDF1? are identical except for the four residues present in the C-terminus of SDF1? but absent from SDF1?. SDF1 isoforms interact with CXCR4 and CXCR7 receptors on the cell surface, and can also bind syndecan4. SDF1 is known to influence lymphopoiesis, regulate patterning and cell number of neural progenitors, and promote angiogenesis. It also enhances the survival of myeloid progenitor cells.

A non-glycosylated, Polypeptide chain containing 72 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 8.4 kDa.
The specific activity as determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral blood monocytes at 100-150 ug/ml corresponding to a Specific Activity of 6,667-10,000 IU/mg.
Purity: > 97% by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC.
Formulation: Lyophilized from a concentrated (1 ug/ml) sterile solution containing 20 mM Phsophate buffer pH-7.4 and 0.15 M NaCl.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized SDF-1b in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
