Introduction
Interleukin-8 (IL-8) belongs to the neutrophil-specific CXC family of chemokines. It is one of the initial cytokines released from a variety of cell types, including T cells, endothelial cells and fibroblasts, in response to an inflammatory stimulus and acts by recruiting neutrophils, T-cells and basophils to the site of inflammation. Elevated Interleukin-8 levels are associated with the onset of a variety of disease states.

A single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 79 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 9.1 kDa.
Determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral blood neutrophils using a concentration range of 50-150 ng/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of 6,667-20,000 IU/mg.
Purity: > 97% by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered concentrated solution in PBS, pH 7.4.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized IL-8 in sterile 18 MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
