Introduction
Il-6 is a cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions: it plays an essential role in the final differentiation of b-cells into ig-secreting cells, it induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth, it induces nerve cells differentiation, in hepatocytes it induces acute phase reactants.

Recombinant Human Interleukin-6 (IL-6) Protein is produced by E. coli transformed with a plasmid contains sequence (Val30-Met212) of Human IL-6 fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
N-terminal sequence analysis: Ser-Pro-Val-Pro-Pro.
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of human TF-1 cells is less then 0.1 ug/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of 5.0 x 107 IU/mg.
Purity: > 95% by RP-HPLC and reducing SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 0.1 ng/ug (1 EU/ug).
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution of 20 mM HAc-NaAc, 150 mM NaCl, pH 5.0.
Reconstitution: Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 ug/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 1X PBS. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
