Introduction
Interleukin 11 (IL-11) is a thrombopoietic growth factor that directly stimulates the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocyte progenitor cells and induces megakaryocyte maturation resulting in increased platelet production. IL-11 is a member of a family of human growth factors that includes human growth hormone, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, and other growth factors.

A single, non-glycosylated, Polypeptide chain containing 177 amino acids (it differs from the 178 amino acid length of the native IL11 only in lack of the N-terminal praline residue) and having a molecular mass of 19 kDa.
N-terminal sequence analysis: Gly-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly.
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine 7TD1 was found to be less then 0.2 ug/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of,1000,000 IU/ mg.
Purity: > 95% by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC.
Formulation: Lyophilized after extensive dialysis against 20 mM PB, pH7.0 and 2% Glycine buffer.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Interleukin -11 in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
