Introduction
Interleukin 11 (IL-11) is a thrombopoietic growth factor that directly stimulates the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocyte progenitor cells and induces megakaryocyte maturation resulting in increased platelet production. IL-11 is a member of a family of human growth factors that includes human growth hormone, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, and other growth factors.

A single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 179 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 19.2 kDa.
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of the proliferation of mouse 7TD1 was found to be less then 1.5 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 666666.66 IU/mg.
Purity: > 95% by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC.
Formulation: Lyophilized from a concentrated (1 mg/ml) solution with no additives.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Interleukin 11 in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-?thaw cycles.
