Introduction
IFN-alpha is produced by macrophages and has antiviral activities. Interferon stimulates the production of two enzymes: protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.

A single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 166 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 19400 Dalton.
N-terminal sequence analysis: Met-Cys-Asp-Leu-Pro.
The specific activity as determined in a viral resistance assay using bovine kidney MDBK cells was found to be 260,000,000 IU/ mg.
Purity: > 98% by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC.
Formulation: Lyophilized from a (1 ug/ml) solution in containing 2.3 mg Sodium phosphate dibasic and 0.55 mg sodium phosphate monobasic buffer.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Interferon-alpha 2b in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
