Description

Introduction
This gene is a member of the EPO/TPO family and encodes a secreted, glycosylated cytokine composed of four alpha helical bundles. The protein is found in the plasma and regulates red cell production by promoting erythroid differentiation and initiating hemoglobin synthesis. This protein also has neuroprotective activity against a variety of potential brain injuries and antiapoptotic functions in several tissue types.

BP000180-CYT-083: Recombinant Human EPOα, HEK

Source: HEK-derived.
A glycosylated monomer, having a total molecular weight of 36 kDa.
The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human TF-1 cells (human erythroleukemic indicator cell line) and is typically 0.5-2.5 ug/ml.
Purity > 95%, by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: The EPO-alpha was lyophilized from 1 ug/ml in 1xPBS.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized EPO-alpha in sterile water not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
