Description

Introduction
EPGN is an EGF-related polypeptide growth factor that signals through the ErbB receptor-1. EPGN is produced in numerous tissues, including the testis, liver, heart and in certain tumor cells. EPGN is mitogenic for fibroblasts and epithelial cells. Human EPGN is originally synthesized as a glycosylated 14.7 kDa transmembrane precursor protein, which is processed by proteolytic cleavage to produce a mature soluble sequence.

BP000228-CYT-601: Recombinant Human Epigen

Source: E. coli-derived.
A single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 72 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 7.9 kDa.
Determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine Balb/3T3 cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is 150-300 ug/ml corresponding to a specific activity of 3,334-6,667 IU/mg.
Purity > 98%, by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC.
Formulation: Lyophilized from 20 mM PBS buffer pH-7.4 containing 130 mM sodium chloride.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Epigen in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
