Background
Immunoreactive BCL2 protein in the neoplastic cells of almost all follicular lymphomas whereas no BCL2 protein was detected in follicles affected by nonneoplastic processes or in normal lymphoid tissue. Every tumor with molecular-genetic evidence of t(14;18) translocation expressed detectable levels of BCL2 protein, regardless of whether the breakpoint was located in or at a distance from the BCL2 gene.Overexpression of BCL2 blocks the apoptotic death of a pro-B-lymphocyte cell line.

Applications: BCL2 antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot, and Immunofluorescence analyses to assure specificity and reactivity. Since applications vary, however, each investigation should be titrated by a reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis and Immunofluorescence is 1:250 ~ 500. Recommended starting dilution is 1:500.
Reactivity: Human.
Immunogen: Anti-human BCL2 mAb, is derived from hybridization of mouse FO myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with recombinant human BCL2 amino acids 1-211 purified from E. coli.
Purification: BCL2 antibody was purified from mouse ascitic fluids by protein-G affinity chromatography.
Form of Antibody: 1 ug/ml containing PBS, pH-7.4, & 0.1% Sodium Azide.
Clone: PAT1B5AT.
Isotype: Mouse IgG2b heavy chain and k light chain.
Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
