Background
Many growth factors and cytokines act as cellular survival factors by preventing programmed cell death (apoptosis). Apoptosis inhibitor 5 (API5) is an antiapoptotic factor which may have a role in protein assembly. It is a critical determinant of E2F1-induced apoptosis, acting downstream of E2F to suppress E2F-dependent apoptosis without generally blocking E2F-dependent transcription.

Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminal of human API5, different from the related mouse sequence by one amino acid.
Purification: affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen.
Form of Antibody: Lyophilized. Each vial contains 5 mg BSA, 0.9 mg NaCl, 0.2 mg Na2HPO4, 0.05 mg Thimerosal, 0.05 mg NaN3.
Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
