Description

Introduction
Akt, also known as Protein Kinase B (PKB), is a serine/threonine-specific protein kinase that plays a key role in multiple cellular processes such as glucose metabolism, apoptosis, cell proliferation, transcription and cell migration. Akt1 is involved in cellular survival pathways, by inhibiting apoptotic processes. Akt1 is also able to induce protein synthesis pathways, and is therefore a key signaling protein in the cellular pathways that lead to skeletal muscle hypertrophy, and general tissue growth. Since it can block apoptosis, and thereby promote cell survival, Akt1 has been implicated as a major factor in many types of cancer. Akt (now also called Akt1) was originally identified as the oncogene in the transforming retrovirus, AKT8.

PA000729-A0453: Akt1 S1 (Phospho-Thr246) Polyclonal Antibody

Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody.
Specificity/Sensitivity: Akt1 S1 (Phospho-Thr246) antibody detects endogenous levels of AKT1S1 only when phosphorylated at threonine 246.
Applications: WB: 1:500~1:1000 ELISA: 1:10000.
Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat.
Immunogen: The antiserum was produced against synthesized phosphopeptide derived from human AKT1S1 around the phosphorylation site of threonine 246 (L-N-TP-S-D).
Purification: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. The antibody against non-phosphopeptide was removed by chromatography using non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylation site.
Form of Antibody: Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
