Introduction
Thrombopoietin is a glycoprotein hormone produced mainly by the liver and the kidney that regulates the production of platelets by the bone marrow. It stimulates the production and differentiation of megakaryocytes, the bone marrow cells that fragment into large numbers of platelets.

A single, non-glycosylated soluble polypeptide chain containing 174 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 18.6 kDa.
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of MO7e cells is < 1 ug/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1,000,000 units/mg.
Purity: > 98.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: Lyophilized from 10 mM Na2PO4, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Thrombopoietin in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature.
