Introduction
Thrombopoietin is a glycoprotein hormone produced mainly by the liver and the kidney that regulates the production of platelets by the bone marrow. It stimulates the production and differentiation of megakaryocytes, the bone marrow cells that fragment into large numbers of platelets.

A glycosylated monomer, having a molecular weight range of 80-85 kDa due to glycosylation.
The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human TF-1 cells (human erythroleukemic indicator cell line) and is typically 0.5-5 ug/ml.
Purity > 90%, by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: Lyophilized from 1ug/ml in 1xPBS.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Thrombopoietin in sterile PBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant HSA.
