Introduction
Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases 1 (TIMP-1) complexes with metalloproteinases (such as collagenases) and irreversibly inactivates them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor. Also mediates erythropoiesis in vitro; but, unlike IL-3, it is species-specific, stimulating the growth and differentiation of only human and murine erythroid progenitors. Known to act on MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-7, MMP-8, MMP-9, MMP-10, MMP-11, MMP-12, MMP-13, and MMP-16. TIMP-1 does not act on MMP-14.

A secreted protein with the sequence of Human TIMP-1 (amino acids Cys24-Ala207) and fused to a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
The IC50 of 2.5-4 nM is measured by its ability to inhibit recombinant human MMP-2 cleavage of the colorimetric peptide substrate, Mca-PLGL-DpaAR-NH2.
Purity: > 95% by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: The TIMP1 protein was lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution containing no additives or preservatives.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized TIMP1 in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped with ice pack. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
