Introduction
PNMT is an enzyme located in the adrenal medulla and it catalyzes the final step of the catecholamine biosynthesis pathway, which methylates norepinephrine to form epinephrine (adrenaline). PNMT has beta-carboline 2N-methyltransferase activity. PNMT takes part in regulating epinephrine production. Glucocorticoid receptors form multimers of PNMT independent of the DNA binding domain. PNMT expression is regulated late in mouse gestation by AP2-alpha and glucocorticoids.

PRMT1 fused with His-MBP tag at N-terminus is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 750 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 84 kDa.
Specific Activity: 10,000 Units/ml. One unit will transfer 1 pmol of methyl group to synthetic peptide of histone H4 for 10 minutes at 37C.
Purity: > 90% by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: The PRMT1 solution contains 40 mM Tris-HCl pH 8.0, 100 mM NaCl, 4 mM MgCl2, 2 mM DTT & 40% glycerol.
