Description

Introduction
Oncostatin M is a member of a cytokine family that includes leukemia-inhibitory factor, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, and interleukin 6. This gene encodes a growth regulator which inhibits the proliferation of a number of tumor cell lines. It regulates cytokine production, including IL-6, G-CSF and GM-CSF from endothelial cells.

BP000233-CYT-169: Recombinant Rat Oncostatin-M (OSM) Protein

Source: E. coli-derived.
A single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 214 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 24.3 kDa.
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of rat C6 cells is < 5.0 ?g/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 200 units/mg.
Purity: > 95% by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC.
Formulation: OSM protein was lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered concentrated solution in 1xPBS, pH 7.4.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Oncostatin M in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
