Background
Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a mammalian phagocyte hemoprotein thought to primarily mediate host defense reactions. It is abundantly expressed in neutrophils and secreted during their activation. Myeloperoxidase is part of the host defense system of human polymorphonuclear leukocytes, responsible for microbicidal activity against a wide range of organisms. It is located in the nucleus as well as in the cytoplasm. Intranuclear MPO may help to protect DNA against damage resulting from oxygen radicals produced during myeloid cell maturation and function.

Specificity/Sensitivity: Human, mouse, rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins.
Applications: Western blot: At 2?g/ml with the appropriate system to detect MPO in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry(P): At 10.5-1 ug/ml to detect MPO in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues.
Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence mapping at the C-terminal of human MPO, identical to the related mouse and rat sequence.
Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
Form of Antibody: Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg Thimerosal, 0.05mg NaN3.
Isotype: Rabbit IgG.
Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
