Introduction
Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) is a transmembrane protein, which is expressed exclusively in the CNS. MOG contains a single Ig-domain exposed to the extracellular space which allows autoantibodies easy access. MOG protein has been identified as a crucial autoantigen for multiple sclerosis in humans. MOG is capable to produce a demyelinating multiple sclerosis-like disease in experimental animals, namely experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) in rodents and monkeys.
BP001328-PRO-466: Recombinant Human Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) Protein
Source: E. coli-derived.
Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing a total of 132 amino acids (Met + 30-154 a.a. + 6x His tag at C-terminus) and having a total molecular mass of 15.2 kDa.
Purity: > 95.0% by RP-HPLC and SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: The Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein 0.5 mg/ml solution was lyophilized from 20 mM sodium acetate buffer pH-4 and 0.3 M sodium chloride.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized MOG in sterile 10 mM Acetic acid not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
