Description

Introduction
IFNγ is the major interferon produced by mitogenically or antigenically stimulated lymphocytes. It is structurally different from type I interferon and its major activity is immunoregulation. It has been implicated in the expression of class II histocompatibility antigens in cells that do not normally produce them, leading to autoimmune disease. Interferon gamma is produced mainly by T-cells and natural killer cells activated by antigens, mitogens, or alloantigens. It is produced by lymphocytes expressing the surface antigens CD4 and CD8. IFNγ synthesis is induced by IL-2, FGF-basic, and EGF.

BP000087-CYT-402: Recombinant Porcine Interferon-γ (IFNγ) Protein

Source: E. coli-derived.
N-terminal sequence analysis: Ser-Tyr-Cys-Gln-Ala.
Predicted molecular mass: 17140 Da.
The ED50 as determined by the amount of interferon that inhibited 50% of the cytopathic effect of vesicular stomatitis virus in MDBK cells was found to be 0.2-0.6 ng/ml corresponding to a Specific Activity of 1.6-5 MIU/mg.
Purity: > 95% by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC.
Formulation: The protein was lyophilized with no additives.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Interferon-gamma in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Shipping: The product is shipped with ice pack. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
