Introduction
IFN-alpha is produced by macrophages and has antiviral activities. Interferon stimulates the production of two enzymes: protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.
BP000082-CYT-093: Recombinant Human Interferon-alpha 2a (IFNα 2a) Protein, HEK Protein
Source: HEK-derived.
A glycosylated monomer, having a total molecular weight of 16 kDa.
The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent cytotoxicity of the human TF-1 cell line (human erythroleukemic indicator cell line) and is typically 0.1-0.4 ug/ml.
Purity: > 95% as obsereved by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: The IFN-a 2a was lyophilized from 1 ug/ml in 1xPBS.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized IFN-a 2a in sterile water not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped with ice pack. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
