Introduction
IFN-alpha 1b is produced by macrophages, IFN-alpha 1b has antiviral activities and stimulates the production of two enzymes: a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.

A single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 166 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 19392 Dalton.
The specific activity as determined in a viral resistance assay using bovine kidney MDBK cells was found to be 1 x 108 IU/ mg.
Purity > 96%, by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC.
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution (50 ug/ml) in PBS, pH 7.4, containing 4% mannitol and 1% HSA.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized IFN alpha 1b in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
