Introduction
Glutamate receptor 2, also known as AMPA-selective glutamate receptor 2, Glutamate receptor ionotropic, AMPA 2, GRIA2, is a multi-pass membrane protein that belongs to the glutamate-gated ion channel family of the GRIA2 subfamily. GRIA2 is one of the ionotropic glutamate receptors that are sensitive to alpha-amino-3- hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionate (AMPA). L-glutamate acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system. Binding of the excitatory neurotransmitter L-glutamate induces a conformation change, leading to the opening of the cation channel, and thereby converts the chemical signal to an electrical impulse. The receptor then desensitizes rapidly and enters a transient inactive state, characterized by the presence of bound agonist. In the presence of CACNG4 or CACNG7 or CACNG8, it shows resensitization which is characterized by a delayed accumulation of current flux upon continued application of glutamate.

Recombinant Human Glutamate receptor 2 (GLUR2) Protein is a secreted protein with sequence (Asn25 -Ala543) of Human GLUR2 fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
Purity: > 95% by SEC-HPLC and reducing SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 0.1 ng/ug (1 IEU/ug).
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution of 20 mM PB, 150 mM NaCl, pH 7.2.
Reconstitution: Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 ug/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 1X PBS. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
