Background
GAP43 is expressed by developing and regenerating neurons, and to a lesser extent, reactive glial cells.It is used widely to specifically label injured neurons and to score neuronal regeneration. GAP43 is also a neuronal growth cone protein thought to be involved in pathfinding. GAP43 is considered to be a crucial component of an effective regenerative response in the nervous system.

Specificity/Sensitivity: Human, mouse, rat, chicken, snake No cross reactivity with other proteins.
Applications: Western blot: At 0.5-1 ug/ml with the appropriate system to detect GAP43 in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry(P): At 1-2?g/ml to detect GAP43 in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Immunohistochemistry(F): At 1-2?g/ml to detect GAP43 in formalin or acetone fixed tissues.
Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat, Chicken, Snake.
Immunogen: GAP-43 from neonatal rat forebrain membranes.
Purification: Purified by the goat anti-mouse IgG affinity chromatography.
Form of Antibody: Lyophilized from 1.2% sodium acetate, with 2 mg BSA and 0.01 mg NaN3 as preservative.
Clone: GAP-8A12.
Isotype: Mouse IgG2a.
Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
