Background
GAP43 is expressed by developing and regenerating neurons, and to a lesser extent, reactive glial cells.It is used widely to specifically label injured neurons and to score neuronal regeneration. GAP43 is also a neuronal growth cone protein thought to be involved in pathfinding. GAP43 is considered to be a crucial component of an effective regenerative response in the nervous system.

Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody.
Specificity/Sensitivity: Human, mouse, rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins.
Applications: Western blot: At 1-2?g/ml with the appropriate system to detect GAP-43 in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry(P): At 1-2?g/ml to detect GAP-43 in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues.
Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminal of the human GAP-43, different from the related mouse and rat sequences by one amino acid.
Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
Form of Antibody: Each vial contains 5 mg BSA, 0.9 mg NaCl, 0.2 mg Na2HPO4, 0.05 mg Thimerosal, 0.05 mg NaN3.
Isotype: Rabbit IgG.
Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
