Introduction
Phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetase 2 mitochondrial (FARS2) is a member of the class II aminoacyl- tRNA synthetase family. FARS2 is a mitochondrial matrix protein. FARS2 when acting as a monomer, catalyzes the ATP-dependent conversion of L-phenylalanine and tRNA (Phe) to L-phenlalanyltRNA (Phe), an event which is vital for proper translation and protein expression.

A single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 436 amino acids (37-451 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 50.6 kDa. FARS2 is fused to a 21 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus.
Purity: > 90.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: FARS2 solution (0.5 mg/ml) containing 20 mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 1 mM DTT, 30% glycerol, 1 mM EDTA and 0.1 M NaCl.
