Background
Enterokinase is a serine proteinase that exhibits specificity for the sequence (Asp)4-Lys. It is the physiological activator of trypsinogen. The native enzyme has a heavy chain (115 kDa) covalently linked to a light chain or catalytic subunit (35 kDa). It has been well documented that the enterokinase light chain (EK) is catalytically effective, (1)and thus most studies are performed using EK.
BP000034-ENZ-311: Recombinant Bovine Enteropeptidase/Enterokinase, Light Chain
Source: Pichia pastoris-derived.
EK recognizes the sequence Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys and cleaves the peptide bond after the lysine residue. Recombinant Bovine Enterokinase is a single glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 235 amino acids and having an MW of ~43 kDa.
Purity > 95%, by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: Bovine EK in 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 0.5 M NaCl and 50% glycerol.
Shipping: The product is shipped with polar packs. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage:
Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
