Description

Background
Enterokinase is a serine proteinase that exhibits specificity for the sequence (Asp)4-Lys. It is the physiological activator of trypsinogen. The native enzyme has a heavy chain (115 kDa) covalently linked to a light chain or catalytic subunit (35 kDa). It has been well documented that the enterokinase light chain (EK) is catalytically effective, (1)and thus most studies are performed using EK.

BP000034-ENZ-267: Porcine Enteropeptidase/Enterokinase

Source: Porcine-derived.
A specific protease which cleaves after the lysine at its recognition site: Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys. Enterokinase will not cleave a site followed by proline. Theoretical Mw is 21,880 Dalton, the apparent Mw on SDS-PAGE is about 40 kDa.
Formulation: 2 IU/µl, 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 0.5 M NaCl and 50% glycerol.

Shipping: The product is shipped with polar packs. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage:
Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
6 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
