Introduction
Human Cystatin A (CSTA) is a member of family 1 of the cystatin superfamily, which is characterized by lacking of disulphide bonds an carbohydrates. Cystatin A is an intracellular inhibitor regulating the activities of cysteine proteases of the papain family such as Cathepsins B, H and L. Cystatin A is also implicated in a number of disease states. Due to altered proteolytic state in cancer progression, Cystatin A may play a role in the proteolytic pathways.
BP001660-PRO-086: Recombinant Human Cystatin-A (CSTA) Protein
Source: E. coli-derived.
Recombinant Human Cystatin A protein is a single, non-glycosylated, Polypeptide chain containing 98 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 11 kDa. The Cystatin A is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
N-terminal sequence analysis: Met-Ile-Pro-Gly-Gly.
Purity: > 98.0% by RP-HPLC and SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: Cystatin A was lyophilized from a concentrated (1 ug/ml) solution in 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5 and 100 mM NaCl.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Cystatin A in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped with ice pack. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
