Introduction
Cystatin-SN is a member of family 2 of the Cystatin superfamily and a cysteine proteinase inhibitor found in saliva, tears, urine, and seminal fluid. Together with Cystatins S and SA, it is produced by the salivary gland and secreted largely in the submandibular/sublingual saliva. Cystatin-SN inhibits members of the Papain family including Cathepsins B, C, H and L.

Recombinant Human CST1 protein is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 145 amino acids (21-141 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 16.9 kDa. Recombinant Human CST1 protein is fused to a 24 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Purity: > 95% by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: CST1 protein solution (1 ug/ml) containing 20 mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 2 mM DTT, 10% glycerol and 100 mM NaCl.
