Description

Introduction
Chlamydia is a common term for infection with any bacterium belonging to the phylum Chlamydiae. This term derives from the name of the bacterial genus Chlamydiain the family Chlamydiaceae, order Chlamydiales, class and phylum Chlamydiae. There are two genera in Chlamydiaceae: Chlamydia and Chlamydophila. The genus Chlamydia includes three species: C. trachomatis, C. muridarum, and C. suis.

Recombinant Chlamydia pneumonia antigen is derived from the CP major outer membrane protein (this region is recognized only by Chlamydia pneumonia antibody), it contains 160 amino acids and fused with a His Tag at C-terminus, having an MW of about 18 kDa, the protein forms a monomer and a dimer on SDS-PAGE gel,the majority of the protein forms a dimer, which migrates at an MW of 40 kDa.
