Description

Introduction
BCL2 gene encodes an integral outer mitochondrial membrane protein that blocks the apoptotic death of some cells such as lymphocytes. Constitutive expression of BCL2, such as in the case of translocation of BCL2 to Ig heavy chain locus, is thought to be the cause of follicular lymphoma. Two transcript variants, produced by alternate splicing, differ in their C-terminal ends.

BP001830-PRO-633: Recombinant Human B-Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma 2 (-BH3) Protein

Source: E. coli-derived.
Recombinant Human Bcl-2 Des BH3 domain (93-107 residues) is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 203 amino acids 1-92 and 108-218. The Bcl-2 is expressed as His-Tag fusion protein and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Purity: > 95.0% as determined by(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Applications: Input marker or positive control (Western Blotting), Function study.
Formulation: The protein contains 10 mM Tris-HCl pH-8, 1 mM EDTA and 250 mM NaCl.
Reconstitution: Suspend Bcl-2 in 100 ul of 0.5 M Acetic acid, over night at 4°C. Dilute 10 fold into selected buffer system. BCL-2 has tendency to form intramolecular disulfide bond, 5 mM DTT is recommended in assay buffer. When running SDS-PAGE gel, 10 mM DTT is recommended.

Shipping: The product is shipped with ice pack. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
