Introduction
Aldo-Keto Reductase 1C4/AKR1C4 is a member of the aldo/keto reductase family that consists of more than 40 known enzymes and proteins. AKR1C4 has highly expressed in Liver. It can catalyzes the bioreduction of chlordecone, a toxic organochlorine pesticide, to chlordecone alcohol in liver. AKR1C4 catalyzes the transformation of the potent androgen dihydrotestosterone (DHT) into the less active form, 5-?-Androstan-3-?,17-?-diol (3-?-diol). In addition, AKR1C4 also has some 20-?-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase activity.
BP001679-ENZ-145: Recombinant Human Aldo-Keto Reductase 1C4 (AKR1C4) Protein
Source: E. coli-derived.
A single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 343 amino acids (1-323) and having a molecular mass of 39.2 kDa. The AKR1C4 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-Tag at N-terminus.
Specific activity: approximately > 0.6 units/mg. Enzymatic activity was confirmed by measuring the amount of enzyme catalyzing the oxidation of 1 micromole NADPH per minute at 25C. Specific activity was expressed as units/mg protein.
Purity: >90% by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: AKR1C4 protein 1 ug/ml is supplied in 20 mM Tris-HCL, pH-8, 0.1 M NaCl, 1 mM DTT and 20% Glycerol.
Shipping: The product is shipped with ice pack. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
