Introduction
Visinin-like protein 1, also known as Hippocalcin-like protein 3, VSNL1, VISL1, is a a member of the visinin/recoverin subfamily of neuronal calcium sensor proteins. VSNL1 is strongly expressed in granule cells of the cerebellum where it associates with membranes in a calcium-dependent manner and modulates intracellular signaling pathways of the central nervous system by directly or indirectly regulating the activity of adenylyl cyclase. It has been shown that VSNL1 regulates the inhibition of rhodopsin phosphorylation in a calcium-dependent manner (in vitro).

Recombinant Human Visinin-like protein 1 (VLP-1) Protein is expressed with sequence (Gly2-Lys191) of Human VSNL1 fused with a His tag at the C-terminus.
Purity: > 95% by reducing SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 0.1 ng/ug (1 IEU/ug).
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution of 20 mM Tris, 20 mM NaCl, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution: Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 ug/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 1X PBS. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Shipping: The product is shipped with ice pack. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
