Description

Introduction
Lipase member H, also known as LPD lipase-related protein, Membrane-associated phosphatidic acid-selective phospholipase A1-alpha, Phospholipase A1 member B, LPDLR, MPAPLA1, PLA1B and LIPH, is a secreted protein which belongs to the Lipase family of AB hydrolase superfamily. LIPH catalyzes the production of 2-acyl lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), which is a lipid mediator with diverse biological properties that include platelet aggregation, smooth muscle contraction, and stimulation of cell proliferation and motility. However, LIPH does not hydrolyze other phospholipids, like phosphatidylserine (PS), phosphatidylcholine (PC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) or triacylglycerol (TG).
