Introduction
Integrin alpha-5 also known as CD49 antigen-like family member E, Fibronectin receptor subunit alpha, Integrin alpha-F, CD49e and ITGA5. It belongs to the integrin alpha chain family and contains 7 FG-GAP repeats. ITGA5 joins with beta 1 to form a fibronectin and laminin receptor which recognizes the sequence R-G-D in its ligands. In case of HIV-1 infection, the interaction with extracellular viral Tat protein seems to enhance angiogenesis in Kaposi's sarcoma lesions. It is expressed on fibroblasts , endothelial cells, peripheral T cells and platelets. ITGA5 undergoes post-translational cleavage in the extracellular domain to yield disulfide-linked light and heavy chains. In addition to adhesion, ITGA5 participates in cell-surface mediated signalling.

Recombinant Human Integrin alpha-5 (ITGA5) Protein is a secreted protein with sequence (Phe42-Tyr995) of Human ITGA5 fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
Purity: > 95% by SEC-HPLC and reducing SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 0.1 ng/ug (1 EU/ug).
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution of 20 mM PB, 150 mM NaCl, pH 7.2.
Reconstitution: Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 ug/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 1X PBS. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
