Introduction
Interleukin-17 is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine produced by activated memory T cells. There are at least six members of the IL-17 family in humans and in mice. Today, IL-17 represents a family of structurally related cytokines that share a highly conserved C-terminal region but differ from one another in their N-terminal regions and in their distinct biological roles. The six known members of this family, IL-17A through IL-17F, are secreted as homodimers. IL-17F also regulates cartilage matrix turnover and inhibits angiogenesis.

Recombinant Human Interleukin-17F (IL-17F) Protein is a disulfide-linked homodimer of 30.1 kDa, consisting of two non-glycosylated polypeptide chains with 134 amino acids each.
Predicted molecular mass: 30.1 kDa.
N-terminal sequence analysis: Met-Arg-Lys-Ile-Pro.
Predicted molecular mass: 30.1 kDa.
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent induction of IL-6 in NIH-3T3 cells was found to be approximately 10 ug/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of 1.0 x 105 IU/mg.
Purity: > 95% by RP-HPLC and reducing SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: < 0.1 ng/ug (1 IEU/ug).
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution of 20 mM PB, pH 7.4.
Reconstitution: Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 ug/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 1X PBS. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
