Introduction
IL17 is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells. IL-17 regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. Interleukin-17 can stimulate the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX-2), as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO). High levels of IL-17 are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis.

Recombinant Human Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) Protein is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 133 amino acids with a molecular mass of 15,256 Daltons.
N-terminal sequence analysis: Met-Gly-Ile-Thr-Ile.
Predicted molecular mass: 15256 Dalton.
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent induction of IL-6 in primary human foreskin fibroblasts was found to be approximately 2 ug/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of 5 x 105 IU/mg.
Purity: > 95% by RP-HPLC and reducing SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution of 20 mM PB, pH 7.4.
Reconstitution: Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 ug/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 1X PBS. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
