Introduction
Fibroblast growth factor receptor substrate 3, also known as FGFR-signaling adaptor SNT2, Suc1-associated neurotrophic factor target 2, FRS2B and FRS3, is a Lipid-anchor. FRS3 contains 1 IRS-type PTB domain and is found in peripheral plasma membrane. FRS3 is mainly expressed in fibroblast and myoblastcell lines and undergo robust tyrosine phosphorylation in response to several mitogenic ligands. FRS3 is adapter protein that links FGR and NGF receptors to downstream signaling pathways. FRS3 is involved in the activation of MAP kinases. FRS3 also down-regulates ERK2 signaling by interfering with the phosphorylation and nuclear translocation of ERK2.
