Introduction
Crystallins are a highly conserved protein family consisting of three classes, alpha, beta and gamma. The alpha crystallins are divided into two groups according to their acidic as well as basic character, namely A and B. The genes encoding the alpha crystallins A and B are located at chromosome 11 and 21, respectively. The hamster alpha-B crystallin (CRYAB) gene, which is highly homologous to that of humans, was cloned at first by Quax-Jeuken and it was demonstrated that the coding region of CRYAB consists of three exons (Quax-Jeuken et al., 1985).

Specificity/Sensitivity: CRYAB/Crystallin-α-B (Phospho-Ser19) antibody detects endogenous levels of CRYAB/Crystallin-α-B only when phosphorylated at serine 19.
Applications: WB: 1:500~1:1000 IHC: 1:50~1:100 ELISA: 1:10000.
Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat.
Immunogen: The antiserum was produced against synthesized phosphopeptide derived from human CRYAB/Crystallin-α-B around the phosphorylation site of serine 19 (F-H-SP-P-S).
Purification: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. The antibody against non-phosphopeptide was removed by chromatography using non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylation site.
Form of Antibody: Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
