Background
Calcineurin, the Ca(2+)/calmodulin-regulated protein phosphatase, first detected in skeletal muscle and brain, has been found in all cells from yeast to mammals. Calcineurin A alpha (PPP3CA),is located on human chromosomes 4, Chromosomal mapping of the human genes for the calmodulin-dependent protein phosphatase (calcineurin) catalytic subunit. Calcineurin regulates bone formation by the osteoblast.

Specificity/Sensitivity: Rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins.
Applications: Western blot: At 0.25-0.5 ug/ml with the appropriate system to detect calcineurin alpha in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry(P): At 0.5-1 ug/ml to detect calcineurin alpha in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues.
Reactivity: Human, Rat.
Immunogen: Bovine brain calcineurin.
Purification: Purified by the goat anti-mouse IgG affinity chromatography.
Form of Antibody: Lyophilized from 1.2% sodium acetate, with 2 mg BSA and 0.01 mg NaN3 as preservative.

Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
