Background
VEGF, a homodimeric glycoprotein of relative molecular mass 45,000, is the only mitogen that specifically acts on endothelial cells. The importance of VEGF and its receptor system in tumor growth and intervention in this system may provide promising approaches to cancer therapy. VEGF receptor 2 is a member of a receptor tyrosine kinase family.Like other growth factor receptors, upon ligand binding VEGF receptor 2 dimerises and is autophosphorylated on multiple tyrosine residues.

Specificity/Sensitivity: Human. No cross reactivity with other proteins.
Applications: Western blot: At 0.5-1 ug/ml with the appropriate system to detect VEGFR2 in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry(F): At 1-2?g/ml to detect VEGFR2 in formalin or acetone fixed tissues.
Reactivity: Human.
Immunogen: Recombinant human extracellular domain of VEGFR-2 (KDR).
Purification: Purified by the goat anti-mouse IgG affinity chromatography.
Form of Antibody: Lyophilized from 1.2% sodium acetate, with 2mg BSA and 0.01mg NaN3 as preservative.

Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
